Crab meat is cooked in coconut milk with a blend of spices. Flavoured with curry leaves and rich creamy texture of coconut milk makes it irresistible.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE FISH

Crab500 gm
Small onions15 Chopped finely
Tomatoes1 ½ Big chopped
Green chilly4 Slit
Gambooge3 (Kodumpuli. Soak it in water)
Turmeric½ tsp
Chilly powder2 tsp
Coconut1 ½ cup
Mustard1 tsp
Ginger1 inch piece chopped finely
Coconut oilFor tempering
Curry LeavesAs needed
SaltTo taste

HOW TO PREPARE

  • Defrost the fish as per instructions and wash.
  • Grind coconut with turmeric and 5 small onion and keep aside.
  • In a pan boil crab along with the remaining balance small onions, ginger, tomato, green chillies, kodumpuli and salt with 2 cups water for 10 minutes.
  • When the crab is cooked, add the grinded coconut paste to it and keep till it starts to boil.Remove from the fire.
  • In another small pan, pour oil and when hot, add mustard, curry leaves and chilly powder for tempering.
  • Pour over curry and serve hot.

TIP: 

Good with rice and puttu
