RECIPE DESCRIPTION:

Planning to have some kappa( tapioca) and meen curry( fish curry)? The spicy sardine curry recipe can be cooked with white sardine, mackerel and anchovy.

Sardine500 gm
Small Onion10 sliced
Onion2 sliced
Ginger1 inch chopped finely
Garlic8 sliced
Green chillies4 slit half
Tomato2 medium cut into big pieces
Cocum3 kudampuli
SaltTo taste
Curry LeavesAs needed
WaterAs needed
Coconut Oil4 tbsp
Mustard1 tsp
Turmeric½ tsp
Chilli Powder3 ½ tbsp
Coriander Powder3 tbsp
Fenugreek powder¼ tsp

Alternate 1Indian Mackerel Cleaned Medium 500 gram
Alternate 2Anchovy Cleaned Medium 500 gram
Alternate 3White sardine - Cleaned Large 500gm

HOW TO PREPARE

  • Defrost the fish as per instruction and wash.
  • In a tava add 3 tbsp oil & temper mustard.
  • To it add ginger & garlic then saute.
  • After that add onions,green chilly & curry leaves & saute.
  • To it, add masala paste and saute in a medium heat till the raw smell goes.
  • Add water,tomato,cocum and salt.Let it boil
  • Add the fish 7 boil for 7 mins with lid on
  • After that reduce the heat and open the lid and keep on for another 5 mins.
  • Pour 1 tbsp of coconut oil and sprinkle some fenugreek and curry leaves

TIP: 

Good with rice and tapioca boiled.
